Photo Composition

Our Photo Composition class will help any photographer develop new habits for how they create their imagery, with a focus on what to put in and what to keep out. Explore the artistic side of photography with a series of homework assignments and interactive discussion/critique of student work.

  • One night a week, four weeks in a row

  • Two and a half hours per night

  • Small class sizes (maximum 5 per session)

  • Learn how to use what you own today more effectively!

  • Well-equipped learning space

$179 (plus WA state tax)

  • Bring five images to the first class on a thumb drive or memory card.

  • Students should have a digital camera and reasonable knowledge of using it - this class is not a “buttons and how-to” course.

  • Expect weekly homework - I know that “life happens”, but figure you’ll need to spend 30-60 minutes sometime between classes.

    • New images are best

    • “Mining your collection” for images that suit the homework topic is OK.

    • Worst case, I’ll still ask you to bring some images of any topic, so that we can review your work weekly.

  • Class cancellation policies:

    • no refunds/transfers/substitutions once class starts

    • transfer/substitution is possible at any point before the class starts

    • refunds are possible with at least three days’ notice before the class starts.
